PRAISING GOD: A LEARNED BEHAVIOR

By Irving Serrano

We often hear Kid`s, say the darnest things. I recently heard about a two year old little girl. Being born and raised in this present day, where most are surrounded by computers, and all kinds of electrical gadgetries. To most of us, its merely the way we operate in the western World, and often enough, we take things for granted. Well apparently this Child, had been around an Ipod tablet. Stories were read to her, pictures were shown to her through this device. Then one day while the Child sat by a living room table, She reached and grabbed a magazine. As she starts to realize, how she can manually turn the pages, she yelled out;" Hey this one is broken". As time goes by there are many things that become items that are not used, or only spoken about as a thing of the past. Many of us have had the honor to be raised by Christian Parents, allowing us to have a real introduction to God's Word. Whether we choose to follow and keep Christ, in our lives as adults, can still be something to contemplate. There are many, who have not had the opportunity to be acquainted with God's Word, nor His Love for us. And like then, since the beginning of time. His Word is everlasting. To some, it`s an old thing that we may remember, but we do not put in our daily walk of life. In (2 Corinthians 2:15)  it tells us that all believers in Christ Jesus are like a sweet perfume, a sweet smell of Christ, whose fragrance, others, both saved and un-saved, cannot help noticing. This fragrance, however , effects people differently by those being saved and those perishing. For those who are being saved, the believer is a sweet smell, a life giving perfume that leads to a better life in Christ. For to be in Christ is life, and not death. (John 6:47) "Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed on from death unto life.'' For those who are perishing, that believer has a bad smell, a fearful smell of death and doom that leads to a horrible death. They perceive the message of the cross as foolishness. (1 Corinthians 1:18-19) "for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent". As Humans, we have a natural ability to get excited about the things that are important to us. Let me encourage you, to choose to have the joy of the Lord and learn to praise God better. Realize that little Child, only have their beliefs in what they were accustomed to. God, has been your joy, your confidence, and your hope. It comes from the Lord. Praise Him through the storms in your life, and God will be there to help give you peace and comfort. His plan for us is bigger than we realize. Praising Him gives us confidence. (1Timothy 4:12) "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, and in purity. Great is our Lord, and greatly to be praised. Lets praise Him, for all He has done in our lives...and all He has yet to do. May God bless you.

 Love always, Irving Serrano Sr.
